How we work
Three rules the desk does not bend
Sourced
Every claim traces to a document, a dataset or a named person. Where a piece depends on one, we say so in the text.
Credited
Photography carries an attribution link and every story a dated byline. Co-authors share the credit, not a footnote.
Corrected in place
Mistakes are fixed where they happened, with a dated note and never quietly, so the record stays readable and the change is visible.
What we cover
Publica reports on the public world: the decisions, budgets, and institutions that shape how cities work, how markets move, and how culture is made. Coverage is organised into a small number of standing sections so readers always know where a story sits.
